The series “Schriftenreihe Geschichte der Naturwissenschaften und der Technik” at Johannes Kepler University Linz publishes scholarly works, including master’s theses, PhD theses, and monographs. Its goal is to inform the public about the important cultural contribution that science and engineering have made to the advancement of civilization throughout history.
This book consists of eighteen papers previously written by the author, covering various topics in the history of information technology. It begins with a chapter discussing key milestones in this field. The subsequent chapters address specific topics from the history of electricity, electrical engineering, telegraphy, telephony, wireless telegraphy, radio, television, and computers. All these papers reflect the author’s interests in his research and collecting activities.
